Can some one advise. Following a power cut, the clock on our whirlpool oven (Model 40015090) has stuck on STOP. Power off and on then try and reset won’t do any thing. Any tips/suggestions.

    Thanks

    Re: whirlpool clock reset

Could be the power cut caused a power surge and stuffed the clock? Could you give us the full model number of the appliance again, the numbers you gave don’t register?

    Martin,

You could be right. Toaster blew taking circuit with it. Reset and everything came back. Can’t get the oven to work though. The oven is a whirlpool provided by Ikea. Only other info on the label is type FCEM6 and 140216013281, which I suspect is a serial number. What format should the model number take. I will try and find it if possible.

Its not a Whirlpool I know, are you sure it says Whirlpool on it? The more usual model number would start AKP123/WH or AKM????? or AKG?????

Production numbers are always 12 digit beginning 857?????????

    Re: whirlpool clock reset

Just checked on the oven. It has
    IKEA WH
    Production 8541 480 15010
This appears on the service sticker along with 14 0216 013821

    Model 400 150 90
    Door says whirlpool
Two dials with a button between and a big fat STOP on the display.

Does that give any clues. No model or type number in the manual either I’m afraid.

    Martin,

think you could be right about the clock. Just been to check oven and it appears they have taken a spur off the cooker socket. Toaster was plugged into that when it went iffy taking the oven with it. Is it likley to just be the clock blown (still shows STOP)? Or is it possible it caused more damage. Also can you identify a part numbernumber (and cost) from the info provided. No AKG type numbers were shown on the oven as far as I could see.

    Cheers.

    Re: whirlpool clock reset

OK I have that listed now. Boy it looks like the main module may have blown? The display controls are linked to the module with a ribbon cable judging by the drawing. The module over £100 😥

    Re: whirlpool clock reset

The clock on these ovens will not reset if the main control knob is in any position apart from “off”

If the main switch is at the off position press the button in the middle ( twice from memory ) till the little cursor appears below the right hand clock symbol, then turn the right hand ( temp ) knob to the correct time and press the middle button to set.

If the main knob is off and the clock wont set following these instructions press the centre button and see if you feel it ckicking if not this is the usual suspect after power cuts.

    Re: whirlpool clock reset

Thanks for the tips John. It’s my sisters oven, so was hoping to pick up a few brownie points. I’ll pop back and try these, but from the way it is all hooked up, my money is on a blown clock. I assume it will default to a STOP display in most cases.

Martin, I’ll leave it to her if she wants to spend £100 on a new clock. Are they straightforward to fit and is there an easy way of checking it is fried?

    Thanks again guys.

    Re: whirlpool clock reset

If you disconnect the power on these ovens they will always say “stop” when switched on,

Hi this is the exact problem I am having, it occurred before but we always managed to get it back working by doing random stuff on the knobs, could you please tell me the exact operation to put it back online?

everytime the current goes off it shows “stop” in the display and it wont turn on unless its unblocked in some way that i dont know,we also dont have the manual. I tried the clock reset procedure above but apparently doesnt work. this is so annoying and frustrating.

my oven is a whirlpool akz151
    any help would be appreciated
    thanks.

Thanks, but that solution doesn’t work for me.

There is no arrow below the clock, when I press the button nothing happens at all it just says ‘stop’. Everything is set to Zero but still no joy.

Do you think it could be something more serious/expensive?

Wow, I see you posted this 10 (ten) years ago, and you probably won’t read this, but thanks for saving our dinner earlier this week with it. That STOP thing left us entirely clueless.
