    my whirlpool drier awz 650 had no heat i took the back off and one of the thermostat sensors was completelt burned out including the lucar blades ive ordered a thermostat kit but now im wondering if its burned out because of something else. any advice please

    2 reasons: 1) = old age (fair wear & tear). 2) Not allowing the dryer to complete the final 10 mins ‘cool-down’ period (i.e switching it off before its finished cooks the thermostats a treat!) 😉

    my theory on this is the plastic casing for the spades i assume it melts and causes the burnout every time i fit a new set of stats or ele i just put on new tags without the plastic covers
    also the cool down is there to cool the inside of the dryer down as well as the clothes if they are sat there at full heat with no circulating air that cannot be a good thing
    it may be worth replacing the element at the same time because if i remember rightly the stats are almost exactly the same price as an element which comes with two new stats already fitted
    i am sure that is right even if it makes no sense feel free to comment folks

    thanks for the feedback things are much clearer now, my missus stops it early alot because she is impatient,and the alarm does her head in thanks for info.
