ParticipantGood Morning, My tumble dryer will not heat, I had changed the Thermostat about 4 months ago and even though this wasn’t the issue at the time, When changing them I found the wire connected to one of the Heating Element connections had a very poor connection and was shorting, I repaired this and replaced the thermostat anyway.
Now the machine is not heating, so after checking the thermostat’s for continuity Which they are both fine, I also checked the heating element connections and they have continuity, After cleaning all the intakes and filters and condenser element, the machine still won’t heat. Am I correct in assuming they may be an overheat fuse/Thermostat build in somewhere I cant see that needs changing that has blown due to overheating / overloading etc.
Is it possible that the element has defected even though it still has continuity??
where can I get the schematics of this machine ??
Any advice would be great and thanks in advanceFebruary 9, 2018 at 10:12 am #453805electrofix

there are a few things in the circuit to make this heat
element if you get a reading while its disconnected then its ok probably sometimes the element can start getting hot then fail
stats there are stats on the element and there is an exhaust stat at the front of the machine in the fan housing
timer one of the timer contacts turns the element on and off

thanks very much.
I had changed the Stats some time ago, and just checked the 2 new and 2 old one for continuity and all 4 are good. question about the stats are the both for controlling the max heat, or does one do the low and the other the high. one has green pain on and the other no coloring. If the stats and element are all good for continuity but don’t kick in and start the heating process am I to assume there’s another trip or fuse/stat’ that may of trip or blowen, as you have said the exhaust stat?? seems like the logical option if the elements and stats are good.?? will have a go. thanks very much for the time to reply.February 9, 2018 at 12:11 pm #453807electrofix

remove bottom cover at the front
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/4812282 … many-makes
then test for continuity
stats on element one for max temp control the other is a 1 shot safety stat
