    I have a Whirlpool 6th Sense Condenser Dryer (model AZA9791, serial 857500915020).
Its kept in a well ventilated unheated garage.
It has been running perfectly for maybe 4 or 5 years. But now when I start any drying program, the timer will display the time remaining (e.g. 2 hours), then it will continue for about 1 or 2 minutes and then the timer will change to just 4 minutes remaining. Obviously the clothes remain wet and the sequence is not running correctly at all.

I cleaned the sensor inside the drum under the door.
    I cleared the filters.
I ran the Test Procedure as per following link but there were no fault codes and things appeared to work correctly during the test.
    https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fault-codes/tumble-dryer-fault-codes/4271-whirlpool-6th-sense-tumble-dryer-fault-codes

Any ideas what the issue might be? Help greatly appreciated.

I have now removed the pump at the back. The machine will work fine until i move the the float switch up – the float switch in the pump well. I have tested this with the pump disconnected from the wiring loom and it is the same result.
As soon as i move the float switch up, the remaining time changes (e.g. from 2 hours) to 3 minutes.
I have still no idea what or why is going on! Surely an on/off switch should not be causing me much grief!

cant see why your doing this with the float

if it was a float problem you would get the full light displayed and the programme would not work

    your original fault is different

The ‘water container’ light only comes on when the program is finished, ‘end’.
Its my parents dryer, I only recently found out about the ‘water container’ light coming on at the end.
The program will run perfectly as long as the float switch is down. As soon as I move it up, the timer will change to 3 minutes.
I put an ohmeter across the drain pump and it was about 700 ohms. I suppose this is ok?

Yeah it does, for the 3 minutes it’s allowed to work…

which proves its not a float problem. if the dryer did not pump water would rise and stop it . If the water never gets that high it cant cause the fault
