Whirlpool Condensing Dryer AWZ7303 Keeps Cutting Out

Hi,

My wife is giving me some grief because of the tumble dryer, so I desparately need your help…

We have a Whirlpool Condensing Tumble Dryer, Model AWZ 7303, it has worked fine since we have had it from new, no problems…. however, it now switches off for no reason (that I can see 😀 ), It heats up fine, the drum is turning BUT then after a while it cuts out and stops, it does not blow any fuses in the house or the plug and will restart again as normal after a few minutes, again a few minutes later, it cuts out again.

After reading some of the questions and answers, I am guessing that the fault as something to do with the Thermostats or heater…. is this correct?

Please help as I need some peace and quite from her in doors…. 😛

Probably the drum outlet thermostat….. HERE. Remove lower front cover plate for access – plug out first.

The front stat shouldn’t really cycle much – poor ventilation/blocked filter/condenser will restrict the airflow and cause it to operate and consequently wear out. Use a test meter to check for continuity – stat should be normally closed. If it’s open circuit, the classic position is that you smack it on the work surface and it resets to closed circuit – for a while……

Again, Many thanks, I will give it a … Good Smack, as sugested, as no one seems to have one locally and the post at the moment is, well……

I will order a new one but in the mean time do as suggested.
