Model S25D RSS33-A/G Side by side American style.
Evaporator defrost heater not working. Freezer freezes over basically.
Heater Element tests okay (Has resistance). Thermistor tests okay (Opens/ closes in ice water test) Temp sensor okay (Resistance changes with temp)
I cant diagnose the main PCB but can anyone shed light on anything else to check?

Would love to make a “gizmo” that is basically a high draw timed switch so after 12 hrs of freezing (compressor running and evap fan running), it would cut power to comp and fan, then kicks in heater element for say 30 mins.
Then obviously switch off heater and comp and evap fan back on for the next 12 hrs.
Any clever boffins out there care to comment?
    Thanks

The boards in those were pretty notorious for failing and, so far as I know they’re all obsolete now and even if not, damned expensive making it (given the age of those units) uneconomic to replace.

The back one controls everything and there’s no way I could see of setting up any kind of ad hoc solution.

Thanks for the replies Gents, both helpful and disheartening hahaha.
The Manual you listed Dave is in German, if anyone wants, heres the English one. Oops cant load it, too big. If anyone wants it…. ask me. Thanks for the repair link, but as im in the Philippines, a bit far for posting i feel.
I guess the every 4 days hair dryer defrost regime is here to stay for a while.
Thanks to you both for the fast replies.
Have a great day from a place where its typhoons, tsunamis, earthquakes and all year round, 24 hr, 30 pus degrees!!
