ParticipantMy dishwasher was in a wash cycle when the main RCD to the house tripped, I reset this ok but the dishwasher started bleeping.
I reset this but it goes through a cycle and does not heat up and finishes with a continuous bleeping, when you open the door the cycle light is on the rinse section and the on button is flashing 3 times, any ideas ?June 28, 2009 at 8:12 pm #290497Penguin45

Three flashes is no heat detected in the time allowed. The trip was almost certainly therefore caused by the heating element failing. I have seen the same fault caused by the wirng at the heater burning out. You should test the element for resistance (25-30 ohms) to be certain.
Replacement element can be found HERE.

Above might help you.
Stay safe, power off if you intend you deal with this yourself.

Hi,
I have a ADG 7550 with the same symptoms, not heating and 3 flashes.
However, the heating element bells out at 27 Ohms.
I presume that the heating element is 240v powered? Is this fused anywhere?
Cheers

a lot of whirlpool dishwashers suffer from broken wires at the bottom of the door

Good call, I guess the PCB sits up at the top of the door where the controls are?
I’ll check the door hinge area out.
Cheers

Spot on Dave, one core to the heater broken, the other cut through to the conductor.
How this never tripped the breaker I don’t know!
Soldersleeves to the rescue.

unless it shorts out it wont trip. if the plastic sleeve the wires are in is damaged it needs to be replaced
also if you limit the amount of times you open the door, so don’t open it for just 1 cup wait till you get a few. and the wires should last longerit nice when its a nice cheap fault

The end was broken off the plastic cover which protects the wires from the sharp edge on the panel – I trimmed it back, and refitted it sticking out a bit to stop the edge connecting with the wires.
Good call limiting the number of door ‘events’
