This machine starts a programme with the initial pump out but just keeps pumping until it eventually flashes 8 times which is water level problem.
Now there is no blockage and the sump is clear of water. Didn’t hear it try to let in water so assume its not the reed switch on the water inlet, or could it be?
Also, if it thinks the sump is still full of water, how does it know? This machine doesn’t have the water indicator diaphragm in the sump that the older ones had problems with. I couldn’t see anyway the machine can sense if it is not draining or drained.

    Any help please.

    Thanks

I have had issues with these machines having faults on the flow meter witch is part of the air brake on the left hand side. 481241868368.it measures the amount of water flowing into the dishwasher instead of the pressure created by water in the sump.

Bosch machines had a similar issue but the flow meter was a separate cheap part.

Remove the side panel and check if the valve is letting water through the flow meter whilst pumping. If it is, I would try the replacing airbrake chamber. You can get the Contact Reeds for the flow meter 481231019147 (included in the airbrake) but when I have tried these in the past they didn’t work, they are the cheaper option to try though.

If there is no water flowing then I would start to check the valve and the connections to it as, as far as I am aware, the dishwasher will only progress from the initial pumping once it has detected the water flowing through the flow meter and it can safely measure the water flowing into the machine.

    Hope this is a help.

    Thanks for the help Anthony.
Thinking about it now, I realise it probably is the reed switch as I was confusing the error code with “draining failure” which is 4 flashes. I have “water level failure”.
I carry the reed switches on the van and have replaced many. I think the knack is to get it in the exact same position when soldering it in, and then i test it with a magnet.

    Thanks again

Hi I’ve just read your post I’ve been to a wpl adp504 d/w today that just pumps out then then after a couple of minutes starts pumping intermitantly can’t find any fault I thought it may be the pcb.

Dose the machine display any error codes (count the flashing lights before the pause or may be shown as a numerical display).

Then look up the codes to work out what the fault may be.

Ok so been back to this machine and reed switch is ok. It doesn’t even start to let water in. Just continues on the pump out for about 2 minutes and then stops with 8 flashes. I’ve checked everything, valves, pump, heater, no broken wires in door etc (this machine is only 2 years old and everything looks new and clean), double checked all connections including on Pc board and checked board for damage but nothing.
Anyone got any ideas before I decide wether to gamble with a board?

    Thanks

Dose the PCB power up the valve? Is there a neutral from the valve? have you powered up the valve interdependently when pumping to run the flow meter to see what the machine does? Other than this I’m stumped without seeing the dishwasher.
    Sorry.

Subs i Had one of these before….if it had a OWI in the sump it maybe that if not its the pcb! with larrys case if your dishwasher is pumping intermitantly (pulsing) it may be the capacitor on the pcb…changing that should solve it
