Whirlpool dishwasher ADP4601/1 Fills does nothing then drain

Whirlpool dishwasher ADP4601/1 Fills does nothing for about2 minutes then drains.
I have checked to see if there is power to the wash motor after it has finished filling, but no power.
There are no lights showing or flashing to indicate a fault. Could this be the flow meter in the metering tank not allowing the machine to fill enough? If so can you just fit a new flow meter or is it the complete metering tank?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated

would have a good look at the wires in the door. The plastic protection is known to split on these and cutting the wires in the process. Would have expected as flashing light had it been a flow meter fault.
