Whirlpool dishwasher door had become stiff…

Hi there,
Having just move into a rented property, I gave the Whirlpool integrated dishwasher a decent clean. There was enough food debris at the door hinges and lower front edge to make a meal!
Since then, the drop-down door has become increasingly stiff, and is accompanied by a scraping ‘twang’ noise from what can only be one or both of the door springs.
Any advice on a Self-fix would be brilliant. Thanks in advance, Mark

post the model but if its an early one there are 2 plastic skates, one either side that act as breaks and they snap and cause your problems

looks very likely

you have to get dishwasher out

remove the sides one at a time. brake is mounted level with the door inside. if its gone too bad you will need to replace the band as well.
its worth doing both sides as if 1 has gone the other wont be far behind
