Hi there. Just wondered if anyone knew a solution to this problem. I’ve got a Whirlpool Dishwasher DWF B10. When I press the start button, I can hear the dishwasher starting to fill up. But just when it’s supposed to start washing, it instead starts beeping and the water gets drained back out. When I open the door, I can see the start button is flashing 11 times, whilst it is still beeping continuously.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Khal.

well looking up old fault codes it comes up as the owi detector

that a detector in the sump that is for temp and look at the water contamination

but common fault on old whirlpools is the wires snap at the bottom of the door where it hinges

when you investigate do it carefully as there may be multiple wires of the same colour

Thanks for your quick response Dave. I will have a look at the wires tomorrow and also see if I can locate the OWI detector. I have removed the base cover of the dishwasher this evening but the room is not very well lit so I’m struggling to find it! Will give you an update tomorrow!

    Thanks again.

you cant miss it. its in the water in the side of the sump bowl

also problem with fault codes is its a guide and not always correct

manual will say Owi fault or control board or wiring. you cant be certain till you swop something

Hi Dave (or anyone else for that matter!). I’m trying to locate the OWI detector on my Whirlpool dishwasher. I’m not sure if I’ve located it, or if I’ve pulled out a different sensor! I’ve highlighted it in red in the picture – is that the correct part?

Or alternatively, if you can point me in the right direction as to where I should be looking, that will be greatly appreciated!! I have attached a photo of what the base of my dishwasher looks like.

    Thanks for reading and looking.

    no thats the temp sender

have you checked for broken wires as you sometimes get owi faults when the unit has not got one

have removed your phone no as we are on a public forum and thats not safe
