Whirlpool dishwasher G2P DW1 flashing and beeping at me

Hi
Our integral whirlpool dishwasher has developed a fault. When I set it to the normal wash cycle it goes through the motions for about 20 seconds and then the cycle jumps back to the rinse setting, with a continual beeping sound and the start light flashing. There appears to be a sort of sequence to the beeps, about 6 in total and then a slight pause before it starts beeping again.
The heater is fine, it appears to be draining fine. ANY CLUES ❓ ❓

Put simply, the machine is not detecting the incoming water and is aborting the programme. It can be a flow meter fault, wiring or electronics – quite tricky to nail down.

Probably best get pro help to it – click the link below for a UKW engineer. Power off if investigating further yourself.

Hi, I have had a pro to see it and he’s a bit stumped. He’s checked everything and nothing is obviously. Narrowed it down to the NTP, do you agree with this diagnostic ❓

If the light is flashing steadily with no obvious pauses then the NTC is the most likely culprit as your engineer suggests 🙂

The NTC was the engineers initial diagnosis, but began to question it when he went to purchase the part and the store said it was a rare component to break (so rare that they had never sold one before).

I am not sure if I have the same problem. I turn my unit on, select a wash cycle and close the door, the washer starts to beep. at the same time the pump runs for about 20 seconds then stops, but the beeps keep going even if I open the door and the run light flashes, I have even left it over night and it was still beeping in the morning.

Any ideas?

Look for a pattern with the light – 1-2-3-4-pause-repeat for example. If it is just a steady flash, it may well be the NTC problem mentioned above.
