Whirlpool Door Seal keeps falling off

Hi

I have a Whirlpool AZB 8570 which was supplied to me last year by Hotpoint as a replacement for my old dryer (which was one of the dryers at risk of catching fire!).

Anyway, since we got it, it’s had a problem where the rubber door seal/gasket continually falls off whenever we open the door. The seal sits in a groove around the opening, and can be pushed back into place, but it seems odd that it doesn’t stay in place.

Wondered if anyone could advise on how to fix this? I wondered about buying some high temperature adhesive but it seems odd to me that this isn’t already applied to the machine…

Best bet is to call the manufacturer…i assume you haven’t been putting up with this for years?!

Or…glue it with a small amount of contact adhesive which could potentially invalidate your warranty…

Thanks. Unfortunately, I’ve been putting up with it for just over a year – so it’s just outside warranty. 😕

I was thinking of using some adhesive, but not being all that handy, I wouldn’t want to do anything that may make it potentially dangerous.

Will probably just have to put up with it and keep pressing it back in!

New seal is not that expensive, around £14.00, part number is C00312040. 😉
Can sometimes be dragged off when removing a very large item of laundry, once they come off the will often keep falling off again.
