Whirlpool dryer AWZ 8578 – Control Unit

We have a Whirlpool 6th Sense condensing tumble dryer which has been diagnosed as having a failed control unit by an engineer. The unit has powerful but nothing illuminates on the front panel.

The engineer is advising that the relevant part will take several weeks to obtain.

Wondered if the community could confirm the part number for the unit. I understand these are usually available in a pre-programmed and programmable variant. The former is a direct replacement with no additional work, the other has to be programmed with specialist equipment depending on the dryer model.

only place I can see part they are asking over £140 for it

from what you describe it may only be the board power supply that has blown. if it is then it can be repaired. As it seems your engineer does not have the skills required you could contact Qer
