    Thanks for that Dave.

Sorry to ask for more info, but, best place to buy on the net, and
do you know if it’s an easy job to fit it?

    Re: Whirlpool Dryer AWZ 8812

I can supply it for you Miles, add on £3.50 to cover postage. As this part will have to come from Whirlpool it will take 5-7 working days to reach you.

I have never fitted one of these I’m afraid so I can’t advise how easy it is to fit, although if it’s the same as the earlier models you just remove the rear panel and it’s there, just remember to pull the plug from the socket 1st.

As you asked about fitting, are you sure the element has failed ? If it is just a “no heat” problem it could be a number of things (and possibly cheaper).

    Miles,

Yes it is relatively easy to fit assuming you are a qualified electrician with the appropriate tools. On that assumption, usually the Thermostats fail on these beasts due mainly to user mis-use, therefore I wonder if it’s just them at fault here ❓

We can supply whatever part you require to fix either way, for us to supply it’s best to ‘pm’ Dave though first 😉

    Re: Whirlpool Dryer AWZ 8812

    Thanks for those replies.

It is a problem of no heat. I looked through a coupe of other posts
regarding other Whirlpool dryers, and thought it might be a case of
    replacing the heating element.

It could well be that it’s just the Thermostat that’s gone, but am not an
engineer. I work in the television industry and have a fair knowledge
    of things electrical.

Any way to check the Thermostat?

A simple continuity test, if any are o/c they are faulty 😉

    Re: Whirlpool Dryer AWZ 8812

    Hi again.

Tested the Thermostat, there seem to be two of them? Both are closed circuit. I don’t know if this is good or bad.

    What next? Help.

    Re: Whirlpool Dryer AWZ 8812

There is another thermostat behind the plastic plinth on the front of the machine. As before it should be closed circuit.

    Re: Whirlpool Dryer AWZ 8812

That’s good in some ways as the stats appear to be OK, although this could mean that the element has failed after all.

Did you not do a continuity test on the element while you were there ?

    Re: Whirlpool Dryer AWZ 8812

I didn’t look round the front, not another one!

The element was closed circuit – so that’s OK?

    Miles,

When you checked the stats on the element, did you disconnect at least one of the leads to each BEFORE checking whether they are open/closed circuit?

Sure I never ment to re post that last one again.

Martin, to the last question, no. I didn’t disconnect any of the cables.
Now I feel like a right chump!

Thanks to all of you for your ongiong help.
