Have come across three of these dryers in the past week where the start button has been pushed in and broken off…upon further inspection have noticed that the button is part of a plastic housing which holds the two mother boards for this machine. So obviously its the plastic housing thats broke but buying one of these will cost an arm and a leg, anyone got any ideas how i can fix this or is it a question of applying a load of glue and proxy bond to fix the start button back onto the plastic? (p.s. If unfamiliar with this machine under normally working order the start button is apart of the plastic housing and when u push it, it inturn pushes the start switch connected to the mother board)

I don’t know this particular model or series but flexible plastics are difficult to glue successfully.
Some have had success with using a soldering iron to weld things back together. When I try that it usually just makes things worse; I think it requires a light touch.
I usually drill small holes in adjacent pieces of plastic and “sew” them together either with small cable ties or with thin wire. Fiddly but satisfying if you get it to work reliably and are able to save the customer silly parts money.
In cases where customers aren’t fussy, you can sometimes get round these things by using a small stick poked through the hole left by the broken off button.
    Mike.
