Hi
My Ikea Whirlpool dishwasher has been refusing to start, with the start light flashing continuously, which led me to suspect an NTC fault (I posted about this before).
However, when I took the panel off to check out the NTC, I discovered that the bottom floor of the machine (the plate below the sump and electrical components) was covered with water.
The leak is coming from the top of a round plastic chamber on the left-hand side of the machine, immediately behind the salt chamber. The flat chamber on the side seems to connect to this, and it appears to contain some kind of filter.
The water’s flooding out quickly, shortly after the machine starts filling up. If I dry off the bottom floor, the machine will start to fill again.
Any pointers as to what this part is would be gratefully welcomed, as well as any tips on dismantling in order to investigate, or other thoughts about the likely cause of the leak.
Also, I stopped the machine while filling once I could see the source of the leak. The chambers still have water in them – is there a way to drain the machine without letting it flood again?
Many thanks,
//P
