Our dishwasher has started to beep constantly, with the light flashing 4 times The flashing can be cleared by holding down the start button, the dishwashers then progresses to the next cycle. We have had an engineer come and look at it, he has cleaned out the pump, but it has not sorted the beeping/flashing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

4 flashes is no drain detected in the time allowed. This may mean that, despite the water draining out, it doesn’t know that it’s empty.

Remove all filters and look into the sump. There is a black plastic grid at the three o’clock position; that is the water level sensor and they do fill up with gunge and goo. You can try using a toothbrush and plenty of hot water to try and flush it out; if that doesn’t do it, you’ll have to pull it out and get it under the tap. It’s a twist fit from underneath.

    Power off, of course.

That is the common physical problem with the machine – it can also be computer related or wiring problems.
