Whirlpool DWF 416 detergent door not opening and not drying

My Whirlpool DWF 416 has suddenly stopped drying properly, and the detergent door does not open automatically. It is possible that these faults both started at the same time, but I cannot be sure about this.

I have read the instructions and checked all the obvious things like cleaning the filters, checking the spray arms are clean and clear, checking the rinse aid is topped up and the setting is correct, checking the salt is topped up. So if it isn’t a regular maintenance item, I guess it must be a fault or faults. Can anyone suggest what further checks to do or other actions to take?

The detergent door and the rinse aid are both dispensed using the same solenoid inside the dispenser. So yes your faults are both related.

Looks like an engineer visit I am afraid

Can you find the service code on the side wall of the door. It’s a long number with a bar code and the word “service”.

It’s not normally a job we would suggest a customer does himself as it requires strip down. Make sure that you pull the plug before investigating further. :plug: :zap:

I think you’re looking at about £40 to £45 for the dispenser. I will let one of my colleagues take over from here to find you the part number as my listing does not show your model number.

Dispenser is p/no 4812 416 68155, around £45 – email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for exact price and to order.

Power off when fitting and be exceedingly careful of the stainless steel edge of the door – you can shave with it.
