I’ve got a two year old built-in DWF B10 from Ikea. The machine would work ok for so far into the cycle (the amount of time before it played up varied) and then continuously bleep while showing the rinse symbol. Occasionally it would manage to do the whole cycle.

Because I’ve got a homecare appliance agreement with British Gas, they came out to look at it over a month ago. They said I needed a new PCB but it took a whole month before the part came. Joy of joy it came and they fitted it yesterday. I’ve just put the dishwahser on this morning, assuming all to be ok and exactly the same thing is happening. I think the engineer (I didn’t watch) replaced the bit below the buttons. Does anyone anywhere know if this is the main operating device for the machine???? Could he have replaced the wrong part?? He’s coming back tomorrow, any help would be really welcomed.

The start light will be flashing an error code. Count the flashes between pauses and let us know. We can then translate it to an error.

The pcb below the buttons is indeed the main pcb on the machine.

    Thanks DP

It seems to be eight flashes then quick pause followed by eight flashes and carries on like that.
    Hope this helps.

8 flashes indicates a water level problem.
Remove the filters, including the mesh filter and ensure they are clean.
Would be worthwhile cleaning the black grid in the bowl at the same time, clean this carefully as you don’t want to puncture the membrane inside it.
Also check the drain hose is high enough, not too far into the stand pipe and that the water isn’t being syphoned out.

Hi, Also adding to Dentedporsche’s advice if you are using Tablets such as 5 in 1 etc with rinse aid in your machine it may be over sudding causing the machine to fault ?? Maybe try cleaning as advised and running it through a cycle without any detergent.

    Re: whirlpool DWF B10

I checked out the filters and DP’s advice – thank you. I’ve raised the wastewater hose slightly and just put it through a programme. It performed fine. Also, the engineer came out again yesterday and ALSO mentioned the cheap 5 in 1 tabs I was using and said how they can confuse the machine. So thanks, very much, DP and Longy for your advice. You’re stars! Hopefully you won’t hear from me again xxx
