ParticipantHi,
I have a problem with my Ikea dishwasher ( DWF B10) – it starts a continuous beep about 4 minutes after switching on, and then after opening the door the green light flashes 4 times in a cycle. The bottom of the dishwasher is about 5 cm deep in water – and of course nothing gets washed!
Any thoughts would be greatly received..

If its flashinf 4 times you have an F4 fault which is a no drain fault. Check the obvious things, trapped drain hose, blockage in sump etc.

Thanks,
will do – can I check the sump without taking the dishwasher apart?November 16, 2007 at 12:27 am #234148Penguin45

Nope, poor access. Bail out the machine, drag it out and remove the undertray for access.
Power off, of course.

Many thanks – apologies for the delay and lack of understanding – can you please take me through removal of the undertray – the pipes seem to be clear and I have the machine out and have removed the mesh from the bottom of the machine so need a bit of assistance..
many thanks

If you lean the machine back, there are two Torx screws at the front corners to undo. Bit of a pull and a wiggle and the tray will come away. Be careful, the edges are sharp.

Hi all
New here and this is my first post. I have had the same symptoms and initially I managed to get the machine working again by flushing through the sump by pouring a couple of saucepans of water into the bowl underneath the mesh and then running it empty. It worked for a couple of runs, but now its back and that trick doesn’t work any more.
I came online looking for advice and found this thread. I followed the instructions, fully expecting the sump to be disgusting, but it was spotless?? I then run some water through the hose to check for blockages in that, but its fine????
Totally flummoxed, any ideas on where else I might look? None of the pipes are trapped and everything seems surprisingly clean.
Look forward to hearing any replies…. I don’t fancy washing up the Xmas dinner stuff without my old faithful 😯

Is the problem that the machine does not empty, or that it does empty and you still get the four flashes?

Hi
It is emptying… although it didn’t at first. But the bleeping and four flashes come on after a few minutes of starting the machine. When the door is opened, anything that was in the sump has been emptied, but I’m not sure if water is being pumped in…. The lights are definitely flashing four times.
Any ideas

Pull the filters. Black grid in the sump is the level switch; it’s probably jammed full of congealed fat. Very hot water and an old toothbrush may clear it, you may have to remove it for proper cleaning. It’s a twist fit from underneath – see post above re. undertray.
Power off, of course.

Hi
Sorry it’s taken so long to reply. I have been really busy and not had the time to look at it properly until today.
The black grid is clean… couple of tiny bits but they just rinsed clear.
