Can anyone tell me what this means and suggest ways around it? We cant use it when this happens.

Optical Water Indicator playing up. Start by removing the filter and identifying the dome in the sump at the 3 o’clock position. Ensure that is spotlessly clean. That usually does the trick.

If it doesn’t, the unit itself may be at fault. Wiring can be another issue – oxidisation of connector block and edge connectors is a regular problem. A good clean and a pinch of the connector solves lots of problems.#

Computer could be at fault, but haven’t come across that as an issue yet.

Power off if you feel the urge to dive underneath.

In the 3 o clock position is a black circular grill type object. Is that what needs to be cleaned? If so, is there a trick to removing it?

Ah…… The black grid is the water indicator. This a diaphragm with a microswitch behind it. It is prone to sludging up with fatty deposits – plenty of hot water and an old toothbrush may clear it. The microswitch spring is prone to failure.. The unit is a twist fit from underneath if you need to remove it – power off first.

Replacement unit is HERE if you decide to replace it.

Curious about the error code though………

Hi,

My dishwasher is a Diplomat ADP8322 (which i think is a rebadged whirlpool unit) & has been playing up recently. When you start a cycle it is fine for a minute or so then it starts beeping, the rinse light comes on & the light next to the start button flashes 11 times, pauses then repeats.

Is this likeley to be that same fault?

I do have a black grid looking thing at 3 o clock too.

The first time this happened i cleaned out all of the filters etc & it fixed it, but now no matter what i do it just keeps beeping.

All help would be appreciated.
