    Right, here goes….

I have a Whirlpool DWF B10 built in dish washer bought from IKEA. Its just over a year old, and has stopped working.

It worked ok for about 11 months, and then one day all we got was continous bleeping midway through a cycle and it stopped working. As it was still under waranty the nice man came out to take a look. He said the problem was due to the fact that it wasn’t level, which was true. He cleaned out the drip tray at the bottom, I fixed the level issue, and all was well for another month.

But now the continous bleeping has returned. If I mop up the drip tray it will limp through a half hearted 40 degree wash, but leaks about a bucket load of water on the floor from the left hand side of the drip tray. If I try a 50 degree wash it gets about 5 mins into the cycle before the bleeping starts, the drip tray fills up, and it switches to a rinse cycle (whilst still bleeping).

Anyone got any ideas..? Its now out of the warranty period, and I’m fed up doing the washing up..!

There’s obviously a leak which needs resolving hence the error bleeps, the flood protection system is being activated by the sound of it.

Blocked spray arms can cause this, water from the jets gets sprayed directly at the door seal and corners causing a leak to the base, you could check that.

    Hi

I’ve also just bought a DWF B10 from IKEA. Same problem here, within a minute of the programme being started the machine stops and I get the beeping.

Styut, is your machine cold or hot fill? The plumber who installed mine attached it to the hot pipe, he assumed it was hot fill due to the big red hose and connector (it made sense then, and the instructions weren’t clear). I’m not so sure now though, I didn’t think you got that many hot filled appliances now.

Also, we live live a a soft water area (2.5). The instructions say I don’t have to add regeneration salt, but the add salt indicator light stays on continously. I’m wondering if this is stopping the machine working.

Looking at your post I think the machine is pretty level, so I don’t think that’s the problem.

If anyone has any suggestions please reply. My local whirlpool servive centre couldn’t give help over the phone, contrary to their sales blurb.

    Cheers
    Steve

It’s a cold fill, that may well be where the problem is to be honest.

It will throw the temperature sensor haywire when it fills 😉

    Check that first 🙂

Cheers Dave, I’ll check it out – hopefully I’ve not done any lasting damage!

    Hi,

I too have the same problem. My machine is only 3 months old. runs for a couple of minutes and then stops with a continual beeping. the indicator light also moves back from a wash to the rinse symbol.

The machine has been working fine so far so I assume it is still level. I have not moved it.

There is a lot of water under the fine mesh filter which never goes away.

Any clues woould be very welcome – it is only a week until christmas!! Help!

There is always a certain ammount of water left Chris, you may well have a fault though.

Please refer to the user manual’s troubleshooting guide, if all is OK, then it’s a call to Whirlpool for an in guarantee repair.

    Dave.
