My oven recently went ‘bang’. I found the fan motor had burnt out and bought a new part from Whirlpool parts. Upon installing the new fan, I found that it wouldn’t work. I explored deeper and discovered 3 burnt out resistors on the electronic control board. To replace the board costs about £100! Is it possible for me to just repace the 3 resistors (numbers R076, R078 and R079) at a cost of about £1 and expect the thing to work?
If anyone thinks this can be done, can someone please tell me what the resistance values of the 3 components are as its impossible to tell from their blackened remains? The label identifies the machine as Type FCEM6, Mod G2P62F/SS, 854183815020.
If you don’t think this can be done, could you suggest an alternative route to paying out £100 as I’m thinking I might have to buy a new oven altogether rather than throw this amount of money into a 2 year old machine?
    Thanks for your input.
