I have a Whirlpool AKG 668 double oven in which the fan oven has stopped cooking properly. On looking inside the fan at the back is not turning so I guess that means the fan motor has died. There is still heat being generated and it claims to be getting up to temperature so I have concluded that the elements must be OK?
How easy is it to change the fan assembly and what is it likely to cost to get the spare?
    Thanks
    Gill

New fan unit (Part No: 481936178208) will set you back around £150 🙁

Don’t panic at the cost – spares@ukwhitegoods.com will probably be able to source a suitable replacement at a significantly lower price. It may well be after the Bank Holiday however.

Typical Whirlpool then, three times the price of anyone else for spares! 🙄

    Or sooner 😀

That’s a Stoves made oven, Gill, please check around the door area for the rating plate and let me know the numbers from it, especially the one beginning 059????.

I’ll get you the real price then from the manufacturer rather than what Whirlpool decide to charge for the part 😉

    Dave.

Ah! That’s where we cannot help for certain legal liability reasons 😉
See the link below on that:

    viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4386

However, DO ENSURE THE MACHINE IS FULLY ISOLATED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY (WHERE NECESSARY – AND IF AT ALL POSSIBLE REMOVE THE FUSE :zap:

….one additional tip…..a spray can of WD40 may help in getting the old unit out
