    Hi,

Wondering if anyone could tell me how to get one of these Whirlpool FRBB36AF20/2 American Style Fridge Freezers into Forced Defrost mode?

Customer has ongoing problems with the evaporator frosting up every couple of weeks. Heater continuity is ok, thermostat appears ok (customer has changed it for a new one already anyway), door seals are ok, self test shows no failures. It’s probably a control board issue, but I’d really like to be able to force defrost to see what happens.

Any other clues as to what else might be going on would also be appreciated?

    Thanks,
    Jon

Switch the appliance off at the mains and leave for about 1 min then switch back on. It should go into a defrost but if the compressor starts up it will need the rear board.

Many thanks. It didn’t go into defrost when it started up, and the compressor stayed on. So, I’ll stick a new board in.

    Cheers,
    Jon
