Whirlpool Freezer issue

Hi just got an old Whirlpool under counter freezer given to me as an overflow for my veggies. No model number visable apart from a number on the motor casing (IRE PBH 9AF63) No name either. Has a rocker switch then amber, green and red lights with a 1-4 point slot type setter on the front. Has 3 draws an a door section inside.
All the seals are ok and when I turn it on it freezes and seems to work ok. However on touching the motor casing it is almost to hot to touch.
1. Is this normal or should I be concerned?
2. On switching on the rocker switch the amber light comes on. Is this just fast freeze or do I need to leave that on ?
3. None of the other lights have come on. Does the green need to come on to say all is ok?

Finally does it sound as though I should dump it as I suspect?

Many thanks in advance if anyone can help. Soory its a bit vague but I have no manual etc and can`t seem to find anything about it without a number.
