(I hope I am posting this in the right Forum!).
I am after some advice: my Whirlpool fridge (20RI-D4 A+PT) has been playing up for a couple of weeks now. Main symptom other than not cooling/freezing is a clicking sound and I have managed to restart it a couple of times by turning the mains OFF and back on again. My knowledge base with fridges is very limited: Are the symptoms a sign that the compressor is failing? Can I check anything to pinpoint the fault? (I am competent in using a Fluke, and I am suitably experienced in treating eletricity safely). Finally, if indeed it is the compressor, is it economic to consider a repair (by an experienced professional)? I do not know for certain (as we inherited the Fridge/Freezer when we bought the house) but I suspect it must be ~10 years old (if not older!).
