Whirlpool Fridge Freezer (American) – Ice Dispenser Problem

Hi,

I’ve checked the forum for anything similar without success.

I don’t have the model number to hand, I live in Germany, home at weekend.

It doesn’t dispense WHOLE pieces of ice, the CRUSHED ice maker works fine.

The only other thing I have noticed is the light flashes on and off when trying to eject whole pieces of ice.

I’ve used a hair dryer, to de-frost anything frozen —–> no success.

Does anyone have any ideas.

HAVE U PUT THE SWITCH TO CUBE? R U SAYING THE FRONT PCB LIGHTS R FLASHEING

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes I have put the switch to cube….if only it was that simple!!

No problem when it is set to crushed, problem only occurs when whole cube ice is selected.

What is a PCB light? The only exterior light bulb flashes on and off……on reflection it looks like the WHOLE fridge freezer flashes on and off at 0.25 second intervals.

Any advice is gratefully received.

OK,THERE IS A 230 DC MOTOR IN THE FREEZER DOOR, IT GOS ONE WAY FOR CUBE AND BACK FOR CRUSH. U NEED TO NO DOES THE MOTOR WORK TWO WAYS,IF MOTOR OK THEN THE ICE CONTAINER MAY BE AT FAULT. I HOPE THIS WILL HELP
