Whirlpool fridge freezer bought in 2006

Hi all, fan is constantly on and the freezer is not defrosting , i can see a build up on the grill at the back of the freezer and the fridge isn’t as cool as it should be . Also i hear a ticking noise which sounds like its coming from the front panel
