I wonder if you could shed some light on a problem I’m having with my Whirlpool fridge-freezer. It’s getting warm when it obviously shouldn’t. I’ve found that if I turn the thermostat to the ‘ off ‘ position and then ‘ on ‘ to max, it fires up and brings the temperature down to the required level… but once it does, it switches off and doesn’t re-start unless I repeat the procedure. Does this indicate a faulty thermostat?

I would appreciate some help on this. Many thanks, Ronnie. 😉

    Hi Ronnie

    Welcome to the forums 😀

Can you post up the model number and the 12 number code starting with 85 please, without this no one is going to be able to help I’m afraid.

Hi Don… thanks for your prompt reply my friend. I can’t seem to find much on the rear of the fridge-freezer other than a barcode. So it’s a Whirlpool 642016047. I hope this is enough to track it down.

    Ronnie 😉
