    Hi all

    I have a Whirpool G2P62F/BK/01 (854187015011) fitted oven/grill.

After a day of baking bread/cakes/roasties, the cold air vent above the oven door (just below the knobs and display) doesn’t turn off. As soon as I turn the oven on from the mains, the cold air immediately starts blowing. If I turn the oven up to 200C, it stays on. After using the oven/grill to cook food, it stays on. It only turns off when turning off the unit from the mains.

I have tried replacing the element at the back of the oven to no avail. My next step was going to be the temperature sensor. I wanted to check with you guys to see if I’m on the right track. I’m having second thoughts as to whether this would work because the oven still works, otherwise surely the sensor would not know what temperature the oven is at (the display has marks to indicate when up to desired temperature).

    Any ideas?

if the temp sensor in the oven is giving you the correct temp to cook with then its not going to cure it. From what I can see there is no separate thermostat just for the fan and it is fed directly from the main pcb. My guess is its a time thing so after turning off the oven it would run on for 10 to 15 mins or so. If its not turning off it sounds like the main pcb may have a fault. As an engineer my first port of call would be to determine how the fan is switched on the board. It may well be a relay that’s stuck and can be replaced.
Cant comment further as I have not seen the board and the tech info is a little sparse

    Dave
