[/HR]Hi,

Called last week to see this dishwasher that makes a grinding noise when it’s washing. It sounded like the motor was struggling to get going but when it got going it was nice and quiet. It then emptied and filled back up then started to wash again but this time the noise continued but it appeared to still be washing properly.
I went back to day and changed the motor but it’s still making the same noise. There is no sign of any damage to the old motor impeller but it’s now making the noise constantly. I also noticed what sounded like the dispenser clicking like it does when it opens but it kept doing it. I’m thinking the pcb could be faulty, somehow pulsing power to the motor and dispenser?
Just wondered if anyone had come across anything like this before.

[electrofix]

I would open the timer
check the type of power supply, if its capacitor then change it
check for blown domed capacitors
