I have a problem with my Whrilpool gas hob.
The rear two are sparking when one of the knob is pressed but the front 2 dont spark, but when i light the front 2 with a match and press one of the buttons (when the gas is lit) to make a spark, they decide to work, but when i turn the gas off, the front 2 wont spark again ????
when the gas is lit the spark can jump the gap easier. chances are the spark electrodes are broken. if there is a crack in them the spark goes the easiest way. if the gas is not lit it goes through the crak but sparks in the normal place when lit.
to effect a repair the hob would have to be disconnected and removed from the work surface
to be honest its a lot less problems and safer to buy a gas match
