    Hi

Hopefully someone on here can help diagnose the problem with my cooker.

    I have a whirlpool generation 2000+ Model No. – G2P 62F SS

The cooker element heats up but very quickly and within 2 minutes you can see it’s red hot at the back of the cooker which is not normal.

Would this be a thermostat problem or a replacement element required.

As i say, the element heats up but too quickly and would burn out if left unattended.

Hopefully someone can offer some advice.

    Many thanks
    Simon

Not initially and I couldn’t leave the oven on long enough to check to see if it kicked in because the element was getting so hot.

If the fan would normally start up straight away then no, it’s not running…

That’s the place to start then – it should come on with the thermostat being set. Sometimes they burn out, sometimes they just need a stripdown, clean and lube. Occasionally, they don’t get a supply from the power board, but this is unusual.

4812 361 78242 is the part number if you need to replace the motor – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.

Stay safe; power off if you plan to investigate this yourself.
