Whirlpool icemaker non-functional

Hi

Firstly thanks for the great forum!

I have a whirlpool S10E RWW2V A/G 🙁 with an icemaker. The unit stopped making ice so I checked the status LED on the right and it is not lit at all. I have replaced both parts of the optics (transmitter and receiver) as per suggestions on other threads but the unit is still not working and I do not see an infra-red beam either (using my camera phone – checked using a TV remote).

The pipe is not frozen and I only replaced the solenoid about 6 months ago beacuse the water side stopped.

I tried bridging the receiver and the icemaker but couldnt get it to “harvest ice” – that may be me getting it wrong though!

I guess I need to replace either the icemaker unit or the front control panel? Can you advise which as I have spent a fair bit already?

As an aside, for about 6 months previously to the icemaker failing the light on the front would flash when depositing ice. It still does – although there is no ice to deposit.
