hello everyone,
my friend has a whirlpool ultimate care 2 (american collection) tumble dryer. when she goes to open the door, she sometimes gets a shock from one of the 2 bare screws which are along the top of the door. would this be caused by an earth leak or something like that and would it be dangerous??
is it a actual shock or static?
I know this sounds silly but a few times people have brought a henry vac to me scared because they were getting shocks from the plastic flxible hose…. a polish with furniture polish cured it every time… ya cannot get a shock from a plastic tube? ( electrical shock that is ) but its different as it metal screw your saying… does she get a shock from any other part of the cabinet?
The difference here Lee is that the appliance in question is not double insulated like a vacuum cleaner but an earthed appliance. Helo_75 is correct in that the earth return is under suspicion at this point in time in this instance. 😉
