Just tried to replace the main board in a Whirlpool S20BSRB21 A/G and get alarm and CC flashing on the front LED’s. It has had one rear board about 5 years ago, a front board 3 years ago and also the capacitor mod on the rear board a few years ago.
The clicking has just started again and the ice maker has stopped (tried replacing both sides of the IR sensors already) so I thought I’d try a new main board.
The origonal board is part no 481 2440 79019 and the replacement is 481 2217 78213. Every site I’ve looked at says they are equivalent and indeed it is the only board I can find. Any one know what the fault code means? I am assuming the new board is faulty but I remember something about having to replace the front board as well in certain circumstances.

Only ever seen CC display once and that was when I inadvertantly fitted a board intended for a machine with LCD display panel to a machine with LED panel.
If the front board was replaced three years ago it should be compatible.
Both boards can be repaired.

Even though I replaced the front board a few years ago I’ve no idea how old it was or even the part number. I’ve got a new front one arriving tomorrow that is the correct part to be paired with the current rear one so I’ll give it a go. If it still doesn’t work the rear one can go back to Amazon (£50 cheaper than eleswhere) for a replacement.
