I have been asked to sort out a Whirpool semi commercial tumble dryer where the motor was getting jammed with lint – I have cleaned it out as much as I can and it is running better but still feels stiff, as the motor is electrically ok I would like to split it to clean it properly but notice that the end frames are glued on (appears to be a grey glue) – does anyone know what the glue is or what a suitable alternative would be as replacement motors are expensive and special order.
if it were me change the motor. you may be able to split it but getting it aligned again and getting a reliable joint could be a problem.
if you want to try I would use Araldite
