I have got two Whirlpool motors here [MCA45/64-148 WHE9] and [MCA45/64-148 IRN6] .. does anyone know if they are interchangable?

Does anyone know what the WHE9 and IRN6 refers to?

The numbers marked on motors are not the numbers used by Whirlpool or the spares suppliers so there is no cross reference to model numbers. Generally speaking, if both have the same pitch grooves on the pulley and both have the same multi pin socket they should be interchangable. There might be a difference in spin speed between them. Motors sometimes have a spin speed marked on them but it will be the maximum motor speed, not the drum speed.
