ParticipantAWO/D4305. Been to this machine for letting agent for leak and not spinning sometimes. Sorted leak but although tennant said machine would sometimes not spin at end of programme, it would spin if put on just spin cycle. When i checked it out all seemed ok brushes, pumping out fine drained and spun everytime. Got called again to say machine still doing it after every 4th to 5th wash and sometimes wont spin on just spin cycle now. Could it be pressure switch causing this intermittant fault? Any ideas before i go back would be appreciated.
Thanks

Went back to this machine and could not get it to spin at all. Checked pressure system all seems ok. Pressure switch seems to operate. Tried it with and without load in. All it seems to do is drain, distribute then stop. It does this a few times then stops. Although it did not spin this time it had spun before for me and the tennant, so im thinking being intermittant it may not be board (tightened all connections). Ive wasted a lot of time on it now so im even reluctant to gamble £30 on a pressure switch. Am i missing anything?

ParticipantIts probably aborting an out of balance load, ask customer if she notices it missing the spin more often on small loads.

I thought about the out of balance senario but dismissed it when it would not spin with no load. Now i know some machines dont spin with no load in it but i had this spinning empty before. Also would the OOB be happening so often?

You can discount the pressure switch if the machine fills on wash, tumbles and heats OK. And if the nmotor does turn then chances are the wiring harness/motor plug is also OK.
Faults are more likely on the wear and tear components so armature insulation is a caution as well as the brushes of course. But it will also not spin if the heater is a fault. Any insulation failings there are highly likely to give these symptoms.
When the fault occurs does the ‘Service’ LED flash I wonder?

This model is a nightmare for out of balance, bet that is what it is.

Thanks for everyones input.
The letting agency has decided to get a new machine to keep the tennant happy (or quiet). I think the tennant was determined to get a new one anyway.
Im convinced there was nothing wrong with the machine and it was probably an OOB problem.
Its frustrating when you dont get to the bottom of a problem and its possible that a perfectly good machine may be scrapped.Subs
