Martin
Participant2 year old AWO/D7708 will not complete the spin cycle even when empty. It spins at slow speed, pauses, pumps and spins again for the first 3 or 4 mins of an 18 minute cycle. Then it ‘hangs’ at about 13 mins by just tumbling in the spin direction. 😕
Only fault I could find was that the brush holders had carbon deposits causing a 10 megohm earth leak. I cleaned up the motor (brushes are fine) and refitted. It worked just great then, completed the 18 minute spin cycle and ramped up to the full 1400 rpm and finished just fine….job done!
Well, not really, customer back on the phone this morning saying it did one load fine last night now it’s back to where it was and sticking on 13 minutes?
I can only point the finger of fate on the control/power module? It surely must be that?
Help please!

Thanks for your comments there Mark. The motor is in fine form as is the drive belt and no drum problems either. I’m certain it’s an over-reactive O.O.Balance sensing problem with the module TBH? 😕
It would be great if I could get those Whirlpool guys who frequent this site to give me the benefit of their expertise on this one? Replacing the module is a bl**dy expensive option. I really don’t want to take that route without confirmation of my suspicions, as you might well understand. 😉

Since it worked a couple of times after you took the motor off and put it back on, I would think there could be an intermittent connection there somewhere; maybe at motor plug or in that area.
