Good evening,
When I came to use my Whirlpool oven on Monday afternoon I noticed that the display stayed blank when the function knob was turned, nor did it beep. It was brand new in about 2012/13.
Here are some notes about the current functionality of the oven:
Type: FXQM6
Model: AKZM 756/IX
When the oven is switched on at the socket, it beeps once. The display does no come on or make any attempt to illuminate. When the function knob is turned the oven is silent, it should beep when each function is passed over IIRC. The select (tick) button beeps when pressed. After enough button pressing I can get the oven to respond and heat up, proving the front panel controls do partially work. Moving the switch to the off position does not switch the oven off.
I would like to repair this to the component level if possible. A hobby of mine is to repair and restore vintage valve and transistor radios, so I am no stranger to soldering, using a multi-meter or following a circuit diagram.
The fact that there is no display makes me think that a voltage to the display unit is missing. I would like to check the voltages coming out of the LVPSU to start with.
Could a service manual, or any such material, be found for this oven?
Any help would be much appreciated!
