Whirlpool oven – sort of works :-D

What a gold mine of information this place is!

Anyway my little problem:

Whirlpool Algor AKL 781 – built in electric oven/ gas hob. Great little unit, been reliable until last month when it had a “moment” and wouldn’t heat up. Turned the knob off and on and it started fine. Now however it’s decided not to work again!

Grills on it works fine, fan spins, lights up but no heat on fan-assist mode. I’m guessing it’s possibly the fan element or thermostat but I’ve no idea where or how to replace these so any suggestions welcome.

I’m guessing as it’s built into the unit, this won’t be simple?
thermostat seems to work, if I turn it down the “it’s at the set temperature” light goes off then back on as I turn the temp dial back up.

Element faulty?

guessing it can just be replaced by unscrewing the panel inside the oven, true?
