Whirlpool OWI failure

    Hi
    Got a customer with (according to my UKW fault code book :tup: ) An OWI failure .
    So.. what is it and how easy is it to fit ?

    Optical Water Indicator.

    It’s the device at the three o’clock position in the sump of the machine. If the error code points to this then believe it even if the device seems ok when testing with a test meter.

    Sometimes the error code shows the fault as an OWI even if the device is the (microswitch) pressure switch system.

    Some machines fill with a separate metering system (flow meter) but use this device as a backup safety water level test.

    ER! Model number?

    could be 481227128407

    That’s the black unit with the microswitch built in to the top. If its the optical one (transparent plastic) then you will probably need the model number.
