I need to replace main oven fan motor on an electric oven, nothing to technical in that, I quoted my client standard ball park repair cost. works out at an affordable repair for a 4 year old appliance.

get this for a rip off price. £197.37 plus postage from whirlpool agent.(web price) my local dealer via his suppliers £130. trade plus vat.

Now this motor is nothing speicial..what part pattern or gen is a suitable replacement, which will not equate to a third of the cost of the oven or drive my client to the tip to increase the ever increasing white steel mountain found there now days.

Are we being driven down a “scap the appliance culture” with spares cost touching the £200 mark. or am I old school and want to repair everthing, because that was my training, and we are talking before NVQ’S..

    model AKG668/WH

any help welcome or it is a trip to the tip and comet, for my client.

Think I saw some “universal” fan motors, of a small selection of power ratings, on either Connections or Masterpart the other day. Must be worth a search. Otherwise try “Classified” forum or e-bay!
