ParticipantHi, would appreciate any advice, have got a whirlpool s20brbb20, unit makes a clicking sound at 2 clicks per second for 20 seconds-ish then stops for 30 mins. Clicking is coming from one of the relays on the circuit board, RL3 I think but it’s hard to tell exactly.
Any info on what these are controlling and a possible fix would be appreciated
thanks

Sorry, but Ive got exactly the same problem with my American style fridge freezer (WHI-S20BRWW20).
I’ve booked an engineer at £72.50 just for the call out for next Wednesday, but I reckon I might cancel them and just buy a front and back board for £220 + vat, as suggested in the other Whirlpool post (Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer broken down – help!).
I’d really appreciate any advice on this as it’s only two and a half years old.
Thanks for any reply

Hi
Front and back boards will sort you out. However it may be worth giving Whirlpool as this is not a cheap appliance and shouldnt have failed so soon into its life. They may be able to assist you in some way 😉Greg

I tried phoning Whirlpool… got through to service 3rd time of trying…
Nice lady answered but didn’t have a clue about the machines 🙄 Was just there to book a service engineer and let me know that it would cost £72 call out plus parts & labour… – So looks like just replacing board or boards is the cheapest option…
How long are they likely to last once replaced ? – anyone done it?
Mick 😆

Hi
£72.50 inc Vat + parts isnt a bad call out considering the appliance in question.
Have changed a few boards; not to bad to change but you may not need both boards and they are around £100 a shot you may be better with engineer call.
As for lifespan, how long is that piece of string, can depend on a few factors ie clean mains, surges etc.Greg
