Hi, I have a Whirlpool S20 RBB20 a/g fridge/freezer. I had to replace the rear pcb control board 9 months ago to fix the ice maker (at a cost of €200 !!!)

Recently it started making a clicking noise, which went off when you switched off the ice maker.

Now, the alarm is going off and the freezer compartment is not cooling – everything now thawing and wife in big panic.

Could I need another new rear board ? – surely not after 9 months.

I asked whirlpool who told me I have no warranty as I fitted it myself, but I am not happy with that and might take it further if I get no satisfaction.

My service code is 858615215000 or 110241021176

If these machines are so troublesome, why was there not a recall or warranty parts update issued.

What is my cheapest way out ?

Should I replace both the front and rear boards ? or just the capacitors that some people suggest ?

If so – could I have the specifications for the capicators that I can get locally and replace myself befoe everything is thawed.

Sorry for all the questions, but I am in Ireland and find it hard to locate the parts.

it sounds like ur condenser is blocked with lint and that has stopped the cooling air to ur back board, condenser is behind the grill at the bottom of the fridge door,it needs to be totally cleared of lint, and then maybe a new back board, when u changed ur b/board did u replace the front one ? ur machine is an 02 model.
