Fridge is 4 1/2 yrs old is suffering from clicking noises from back and water dispenser thumps loudly when used, thumping stops when fridge door is opened, ice machine has now stopped working is this part of the same problem, was advised may need new circuit boards front and back. has the time finally arrived that the boards need replacing,if so any ideas on cost.

    Thanks

    Hi Lomu,

Johnmac can probably answer this better than I can, but it does sound like the boards are goosed which isn’t cheap. 🙁

Ken is right, the main pcb has to be replaced. 4 and a half years would make your machine old enough to make replacement of both boards necessary.

i have so far successfully replaced one of the capacitors on the rear board, I managed to get the ice machine working again, when switch on the ice maker to fill my glass there is clicking from the rear so i will now replace the other capacitors, bought for £12 from maplin alot cheaper than two new boards.
I found the info concerning the capacitors on another forum, hopefully the new capacitors extend the life of the fridge!!!
thanks for your replies will let you know how it goes when I get the other capacitors installed.
