Whirlpool SI-L4 Fridge not cold

had a whirlpool “engineer2” out who basically did not very much and charged me £70 to tell me it “was probably a control board” and he couldn’t fix it right now, but would need £300-£400 worth of parts which were not in stock yet…

Fridge Freezer is approx. 4 years old, freezer still OK. Fridge is more like a chilled shelf rather than a fridge – is cold, but milk will go off. Fed up with Whirlpool – was just going to buy a different make and be done with it, unless there is something to be done?
